Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn Beetle (Agapanthia villosoviridescens)

Description

Good morning all from this beautiful Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn Beetle (Agapanthia villosoviridescens). My nephew spotted this one chomping on a leaf in Leicestershire (where they're most commonly found) and I just had to get a picture.

The golden-bloomed grey longhorn has fantastic striped antennae. They are longer than its body, which is typical of longhorn beetles. They live on a wide variety of plants. Adults feed on cow parsley, nettles and hogweed, while the larvae live and feed on plants like thistles.
